Korean American Home-care Workers Academy
Dignity. Humanity. Security
KAHWA was established as a result of the project, “Health Bridge,” in collaboration with the Hollywood Work Source Center and the Los Angeles City College in 2010 and 2011, which KTMPSC successfully trained and placed 108 Korean American dislocated family members as home care providers and Certified Nurse Aides, and contributed to implementing IHSS certificate classes at the City College.
KAHWA is an In-Home Health Service registry for the Korean American community. It provides the bilingual and bicultural workers with continuous training, placement, supportive network while protecting frail and disabled individuals from abuse by a worker.
KAHWA aims for aging in place by creating a long-term supportive relationship between the worker and designated beneficiary.
