Korean American Professional Team in Network

KAPTIN aims to create a nationwide service network among Korean American bilingual professionals in various subjects and provide the community with prompt and precise solutions via phone, email, or online. KAPTIN was born out of the urgency that most rescue benefits were only available through tech-loaded online during unprecedented life events. KTEC redirected available resources to meet the community’s urgent need when the pandemic started last year. The bilingual staff and volunteers were trained on unemployment insurance policies and applications, rapidly changing and confusing state and federal rescue plans, and updates on local resources for the undocumented. When many people outside California, usually from remote and legal desert areas, called KTEC for help on their applications and inquiries on their state cases, KTEC learned its limit on diverse needs and sought nationwide networking with professionals.

KAPTIN members are professionals who are willing to spare their knowledge, experience, or inspiration with Korean American immigrants with limited language and internet in 1:1, or a community-wide campaign.
